Morocco vintage road-trip inspired my handwoven blanket

In Morocco; sitting on woven mats on a hard floor, weaving with other women… those memories are the framework for this blanket I’m weaving five years later. Driving the world in Penny, our vintage car, has provided the opportunity for most wonderful experiences. I weave with my hands those stories into beautiful blankets; which I've made to last in families across generations to hold within them new stories.

My journeys are always a source of inspiration and foundation for my artistic practice as well as the way in which I live. This is my hand woven blanket- Fields #2 . Kitchen garden from my window

With my hands in the earth feel a sense of nourishment and contentment. The plants that I grow in my kitchen garden not only feeds my body, but also my creativity and inspire my weaving. COVID has put a halt to travelling for some time, and I've recognised more consciously the nourishment that surrounds me.
